Talisa Dauz

Assistant Professor of Military Science

Captain Talisa Dauz is a native from Nuremberg, Germany. She graduated from Colorado State University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and was commissioned as Second Lieutenant in the United States Army Engineer Corps. Following completion of Engineer Basic Officer Course, she was assigned to the 19th Engineer Battalion at Fort Knox, Kentucky. While assigned to the 19th, she served as a Horizontal Platoon Leader, a HHC Platoon leader, and a Multi-Role Bridge Company Executive Officer. In 2013 she did an individual deployment as a Cultural Support Team enabler to Mazar-i-Sharif, Afghanistan, during which she supported multiple missions conducting search-and-clear and tactical questioning of personnel. Upon her return, she served as the 19th Engineer Battalion Rear Detachment Executive Officer from December 2013 to May 2014. CPT Dauz graduated the Maneuver Captain’s Career Course at Fort Benning, Georgia in 2014. During her time there, she attended Columbus State University and received her Masters of Science degree in Organizational Leadership. In June 2015, she was assigned to the 54th Brigade Engineer Battalion (Airborne), where she served as the Assistant Battalion S3. Shortly following, she was assigned to serve as the Company Commander for Bravo Company, 54th Brigade Engineer Battalion (Airborne) from July 2016 through September 2017, during which her company supported Operation Atlantic Resolve from September 2016-January 2017. She took command of Headquarters Support Company, United States Army Africa/Southern European Task Force from December 2017 to August 2018. CPT Dauz’s military education includes Engineer Basic Officer Leader Course, Maneuver Captain’s Career Course, Airborne, Air Assault, and Sapper School. CPT Dauz’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (2 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (4th Award), National Defense Service Medal, Afghan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service ribbon. NATO Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon, Combat Action Badge, Parachutist Badge, German Army Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, and the Sapper Tab.”
